Description

Unit Overview

Beds: 7 Cath Labs
Patient Population:
- Cardiac patients
- Transplant patients
- Surgical clearance cases
- Pulmonary hypertension patients

Experience Requirements

Minimum Experience: 2 years
First-Time Travelers: Not accepted

Licensure & Certifications

Required:
- State License
- BLS
- ACLS
Accepted Credentials:
- ARRT or RCIS

Required Skills

Ability to scrub and monitor:
- Cardiac catheterization procedures
- Peripheral (PE) procedures

RT coverage 24/7

Nurse Practitioners & Fellows
Cardiologists
Dedicated weekend crew + on-call emergency team

Technology & Equipment

EMR: Cerner
IV Pumps: Alaris

Floating

May float to EP Lab if needed

Orientation

4–5 days (facility + unit)

Scheduling & Call

Shift: 0700 – 1930
Schedule Cycle: 6 weeks
Call Requirements:
- 1–2 overnight call shifts per week
- 1–2 weekends of call per 6 weeks
- Weekend call: 0700 Saturday – 0700 Monday
- 30-minute response time
- On-call team: 2 RNs + 2 Techs

Weekend & Holiday Expectations

Weekends: Call only
Holidays: Based on unit needs
RTO: Requires Nurse Manager approval

Additional Notes

Travelers fill scheduling gaps as needed
Scrubs provided
