Description
MS/Tele Ortho Unit
Every other weekend, every other holiday
Patient Population
- Orthopedic (Backs, Necks, Knees, Hips)
- Some trauma patients with orthopedic injuries
- Bariatric Surgery patients day of surgery and POD #1
- Some medical patients (UTI, appendicitis, generalized weakness, etc.)
- Adults (18-64 years), Geriatrics (65 years and older)
Required Certifications
Must be attached at submission:
- Current RN license in state or covered by compact
- BLS
- ACLS
Minimum Experience Requirements
- 2 years of experience
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training
- Critical Care Course
- CCRN, PCCN, NIH Stroke Certification
Required Skills
- Dysrhythmia Exam (required)
- Communicate well with patients and staff
- Experience with surgical drains
- Experience with post-op patient movement (Backs, Hips, Knees)
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of advanced respiratory modalities
- Conscious sedation administration
- Transvenous pacing
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Managing care of patients with chest tubes
