Registered Nurse – Stepdown (Thoracic Surgery Unit)

• Location: Cleveland, Ohio
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12-hour rotating shifts (Days/Nights: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekend/holiday requirement: Every other holiday; weekends as per unit needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care in a thoracic surgery stepdown (PCU) unit
• Monitor and manage post-operative thoracic and cardiac patients
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and interpret ECG rhythms
• Manage patients with moderate to high acuity, including post-surgical recovery
• Administer medications and support hemodynamic stability
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to similar units (including ED for same patient population) as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Requirements:

• Minimum 18 months of recent Stepdown experience (required)
• Minimum 18 months of permanent RN experience in specialty prior to travel
• Active Ohio RN license or compact license (required)
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA or American Red Cross)
• Ability to pass ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments
• PCU/Progressive Care experience preferred
