Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Operating Room
Location: Sault St. Marie, MI
Job Type: 13 Weeks Contract
 

Job Summary:

The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) plays a critical role in the Operating Room by assisting surgeons and maintaining a safe, sterile environment during surgical procedures. This position requires strong knowledge of surgical techniques, instrumentation, and the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures
• Demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedures and assist with intraoperative tasks
• Verify physician preference cards and ensure all required instruments, supplies, and equipment are available and functioning
• Assemble, inspect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team during procedures
• Maintain accurate counts of medications, sharps, instruments, and sponges per policy
• Monitor sterile field and promptly identify and correct any breaks in sterile technique
• Assist in proper patient positioning and preparation for surgery
• Ensure accurate documentation and supply utilization for billing purposes

Requirements:

• Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Strong experience in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, OB/GYN, Ophthalmology, and Urology
• Proficiency in C-Sections – REQUIRED
• Ability to work in a fast-paced Operating Room environment
• Travel experience – Preferred

Certifications:

• BLS (American Heart Association) – REQUIRED
• NBSTSA Certification – REQUIRED
