Description
Behavioral Health - LVN/LPN - Mids
***If your candidate has worked here previously or has worked at another SSLC, the client will have to check with that facility before deciding if they will make contact***
**For LVN/LPN submission process - do NOT need attachment H with submittal**
Orientation Dates: ASAP
- Orientation is the first 5 weeks from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday-Friday
- no RTO during orientation
- When in training, candidates may only get 32 hours but will go into a 40 hour rotation after orientation
- If someone doesn't want a rotation, we only guarantee 32 hours
- 6-month contract minimum
- They are divided up by care needs and the nurse will be assigned to a unit based on their skill set but could still float to others
- Shifts are alternating to meet staffing needs.
- Able to start any day during the week, given 5 days before start date for processing all pre-employment requirements.
Length: 26 weeks
Hours per week: 40 hours
- 2 pm - 10 pm working every other weekend OR two doubles on the weekend 2p-10p/10p-6a
Shift: Mids
- 5 x 8's
Floating Requirements: Agency nurses are generally pulled first if there’s a need to pull to another unit. Initially, nurses are oriented to multiple assignments before settling in where there’s the biggest need.
Weekends: Must work weekends
RTO: None preferred
Certs: AHA BLS
Licenses: Active Texas LPN/LVN Licensure
Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years' experience as the licensed professional they are applying for. For example, an LVN who has just completed RN school must have 2+ years of experience as an RN when applying for that sort of position.
- 1 year experience in a facility setting for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, and units with medically fragile individuals or areas with a higher acuity, more skilled nursing
- Competent in advanced skills such as gastrostomy tubes/enteral feedings, Foley catheters, tracheostomies, etc.
- Need to have clear written and verbal communication skills, they have to communicate with peers, DSPs, PCPs, and also the individuals who live here.
- Must possess valid LVN license.
- Must comply with HHSC immunization requirements.
- Must submit to HHSC required drug test.
- Must submit to HHSC required fingerprinting.
- Must complete facility and HHSC required training.
- COVID Vaccine Requirement: Vaccine required
