Job Title: Medical Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Medical Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized nursing care in an outpatient oncology setting. The RN will be responsible for administering a wide range of oncology treatments while ensuring patient safety, education, and high-quality clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and various injections (including hormonal and non-hormonal treatments) as ordered by the provider
  • Verify informed consent prior to chemotherapy administration
  • Access and manage central lines including port-a-caths, PICC lines, and Hickman catheters
  • Perform venipuncture, lab draws, and central line dressing changes
  • Monitor patients during treatment, documenting responses and identifying adverse reactions
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely patient records, including medications, treatments, and outcomes
  • Track and document all intravenous therapies and patient responses
  • Notify providers of any significant changes or adverse events and initiate emergency interventions when needed
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, nutrition, and lifestyle adjustments
  • Ensure proper handling, administration, and disposal of hazardous medications in compliance with safety standards and PPE requirements
  • Maintain a safe clinical environment and adhere to all policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Schedule:

  • Day shift: Monday to Friday
  • Occasional holiday coverage may be required

Requirements:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of 3 years of oncology nursing experience required
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system
  • Strong knowledge of chemotherapy administration and oncology care protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to manage central lines and infusion therapies

Additional Information:

  • Pre-employment requirements must be completed prior to start, including health clearance appointments
  • Candidate must be able to comply with onboarding timelines and requirements
  • Reference checks will be conducted
