🔑 Key Responsibilities

🩺 Patient Care

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
• Monitor vital signs and recognize changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely
• Provide wound care and post-operative care

❤️ Telemetry Monitoring

• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment
• Interpret arrhythmias and notify physicians of abnormalities
• Respond to cardiac emergencies (code blue, rapid response)

📋 Clinical Coordination

• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams
• Document patient information accurately in EMR systems
• Educate patients and families on conditions and discharge plans

🚨 Emergency Response

• Identify and respond to acute changes (e.g., chest pain, arrhythmias)
• Perform ACLS protocols during cardiac events

🎯 Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• NIHSS certification (preferred/required by many facilities)
• Minimum 1–2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience

💡 Preferred Skills

• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Experience with telemetry monitors (e.g., Philips, GE)
• Knowledge of common conditions:
  • CHF, COPD, MI, stroke, diabetes
• Time management and multitasking in fast-paced settings

🏨 Work Environment

• Hospital acute care setting
• Typical patient ratio: 1:4–1:6
• 12-hour shifts (days/nights, weekends, holidays)
