Position Overview
Midland Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced ER Registered Nurse (RN) for a high-volume emergency department. This is a fast-paced environment treating both adult and pediatric patients, requiring strong clinical judgment and trauma experience.
Shift Details
- Shift: Nights
- Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Facility & Unit Details
- Unit: Emergency Department (42 beds)
- Daily Volume: ~200 visits/day
- Patient Population: Neonates to Geriatrics
- Trauma Level: II/III (preferred experience)
- Support Staff: Respiratory, Pharmacy, Social Services, Unit Secretary
- Charting System: Cerner (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency care to adult and pediatric patients
- Perform triage, assessments, and rapid interventions
- Administer medications and emergency treatments
- Manage trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate documentation
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (pending accepted; must be active before start)
- Minimum 2 years ER experience in a similar-size facility (40+ bed ER, 200+ visits/day)
- Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- TNCC (or willingness to obtain)
- NIHSS
- Preferred: Recent ER travel experience (within last 6–8 months)
Skills & Experience
- Trauma and emergency response (Level II/III preferred)
- Ventilator management, intubation, and ABGs
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
- IV therapy, blood administration, and central line care
- Pediatric and behavioral health emergency care
