Description

Operating Room & Technical Support

  • Perform scrubbing duties as required, including support for orthopedic and other surgical specialties.
  • Assist with room setup and turnover to maintain efficient surgical workflow.
  • Collaborate with surgeons and OR staff to ensure trays, instrumentation, implants, and supplies are available and prepared for procedures.
  • Support inventory control, supply ordering, and supply chain management activities.
  • Charge equipment and supplies accurately according to hospital procedures.
Certified Surgical Assistant – Orthopedic Surgery Position Summary The Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) is an essential member of the perioperative team, providing direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures with a primary focus on Orthopedic surgeries. This role also supports operating room efficiency by functioning, when needed, as a first or second surgical technician or second circulator under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The CSA ensures adherence to sterile technique, patient safety standards, and departmental policies while contributing to high-quality surgical care. Schedule Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Day off: To be determined On-call requirement: 6–8 shifts per month, including weekdays and weekends Qualifications Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) certification required. Experience assisting in Orthopedic surgical procedures strongly preferred. Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile technique, and closure methods. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operating room environment. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Flexibility to participate in on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays. Preferred Experience Orthopedic surgery experience Scrub experience in multiple surgical specialties Experience with inventory management and OR supply coordination
