Position Overview:
We are seeking a patient-centered and compassionate Hospice Registered Nurse to provide high-quality end-of-life care in the Greater Lake Charles area. This role follows a 7 on / 7 off-style rotation, delivering consistent, supportive care to patients and their families while working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate demonstrates flexibility, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to comfort-focused care.

Schedule & Work Details:

• Location: Greater Lake Charles area
• Schedule: 7 on / 7 off rotation (averaging 6 full working weeks over a 13-week assignment)
  • Monday through Friday: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM
  • Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
• Weekly Guarantee: 40 hours
• On-Call/Weekend Requirement: Yes, included in rotation
• Mileage Reimbursement: Yes, between patient visits (first to last patient)
• Pay Rate: $51 to $53 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to hospice patients in their homes or care settings
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes in condition
• Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Provide symptom and pain management to ensure patient comfort and dignity
• Deliver emotional support and education to patients and families regarding disease progression and end-of-life care
• Coordinate care with physicians, social workers, chaplains, and other team members
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation using EMR systems
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled and respond to patient needs as required

Required Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Prior hospice nursing experience required
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently in a field-based setting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Homecare Homebase (HCHB)
• Patient-centered approach with a compassionate bedside manner
• Positive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude
• Strong communication and organizational skills
