Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Athens, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Shift: See shift details (not specified)
Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
Call Requirements: As needed
Patient Population: All ages


Unit Information

  • Department: Labor & Delivery
  • Float Requirements: Must be willing to float to Postpartum as needed
  • Electronic Health Records (EHR): MedHost, Centricity Perinatal
  • Patient Ratios and Number of Beds: Not specified

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Required Certifications prior to start:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • HWC (Hospital Workforce Certification)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Must be checked against the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to assignment start

Candidate Profile

  • Must have experience and confidence to work independently
  • Professional and team-oriented personality
  • Dress code: Any scrub color allowed; no camouflage or non-facility logo apparel except for facility-branded items

Additional Notes

  • Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Mondays
  • Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
