Radiologic Technologist

Location: Chapel Hill, North Carolina
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform general diagnostic radiology procedures following departmental protocols and policies.
• Obtain and maintain RT(R) credentials with active status.
• Troubleshoot equipment and protocol issues.
• Ensure accuracy of patient demographic data, exam requests, and image orientation.
• Critique, save, and transmit quality-assured images to PACS.
• Document procedure completion or cancellation in RIS, including comments as appropriate.
• Maintain image management equipment and report any problems.
• Use RIS, CIS, PACS, and SMS systems effectively to access and document procedure status.
• Verify patient identity and history relevant to the exam.
• Confirm pregnancy status before administering ionizing radiation.
• Assess patient physical condition and develop an action plan for the exam.
• Assist patients requiring extra attention and respond to emergency situations.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and document incidents.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in North Carolina
• Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year (including 0 years of experience)
• ARRT certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Radiology Technologist experience

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience is not required.
• Emphasis on patient safety and quality imaging.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the department.
