Shift: 12H Nights 4 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule; must work 2 of 4 major holidays; first to float
THIS IS A TELE POSITION, REQUIRING TELE SKILLS - PLEASE READ BELOW*****Minimum 2 years of experience - must be recent, within the past 6 months.**Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving offer, through RELIAS, only (with 2 MAX attempts). **There is also a PASS/FAIL SIM LAB on day one of orientation (study guides will be provided with first day instructions.)# of bedsCRMC 60 ED Beds, MGMC 31 ED BedsRatios1 to 4Required certificationsBLS, ACLSCommon diagnoses/Types of patientsED holds waiting for placement on a unit, primarily MS/TeleExperience MUST HAVE a strong cardiac tele background, preferably 2 years. Must be able to decrease cardiac drips per physicians orders and parameters. Nurses will be caring for more tele patients VS medical. (MS/Tele travlers DO NOT need prior travel experienceAre RNs required to titrate dripsYesCommon titratable &/or set rate dripsCardizem, Heparin, AmiodaroneCharge Nurse/House SupervisorED charge nurse. Are there nurse aids on this unit/RatiosED PCTs availableRT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc)No VentsIs there tele on this unit Monitor Techs RNs read stripsNurses must be able to read & interpret strips. No monitor tech in the ED. Shifts & Scheduling12 hr shifts (7a - 7p or 7p - 7a) Ability to self-schedule; however this could change from time to time. Weekend Requirement4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule.Holiday RequirementRotate in with the perm staffIs there a call or standby requirementNo call requiredFloating RequirementsWould float to med/surg/tele/overflow units and CRMC/MGMC Eds as needed.Scrub Color/Dress CodeNavyUnit/Department specific orientation2 shifts orientation to Med/Surg/Tele at primary campus. Additional NotesWill be caring for patients from the ER who are waiting on a bed in the hospital.Additional QuestionsMay be asked to help with ED patients including vitals, IV starts and medicaton administration. Will not be asked to be primary RN for ED patient assignment. Very responsive, follows up. I have had to deal with compliance, HR questions etc and if the person I spoke with did not know the answer they sent it to whoever they thought could answer my questions and my questions or concerns were followed up on! This has been my first travel contract but I can’t say anything bad thus far!!! I definitely would recommend this company
