Description

Shift: 10 hour shifts- Evenings and nights

Days of the week rotate to include weekends and holidays

 

 

The Computed Tomography Technologist I must have the capability to perform work assignments effectively with and without direct supervision. Performs all preliminary tasks to insure smooth access to the scanner; Explains the procedure and gives directions to the patients before the procedure; Assists the patient onto the examination table and back; Positions patients appropriately for the examination requested; Performs all computer and radiographic functions necessary to insure that the scan is correctly and diagnostically executed in minimal time; Uses the multi-format camera and performs secondary support tasks to insure the patient s safety during the scan; Assists the radiologist or requesting physician in administering contrast media or other medications as necessary; Assures compliance with all state and federal regulations governing radiation safety and filmed badge programs; Makes the completed scans available to the radiologist for readings Uses good radiation safety, and maintains safety practices at all times; Logs patients in and is responsible for secondary paper work; Works in the darkroom to process radiographs when required; Reviews films for proper identification and quality checks; Maintains equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition; Provides cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first-aid care to patients when required in the department; Inputs charges into the computer billing system; Dependent upon area of practice or department assignments, demonstrates clinical knowledge and skill in the care of the newborn, infant, toddler, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient ranging up to 100+ years of age. Schedule Notes:10 hour shifts- Evenings and nightsDays of the week rotate to include weekends and holidays13 weeks contractSkills: Certification by the State of California, Department of Health Services, as a Radiologic Technologist Satisfactory completion of formal computed tomography training program (one year) or equivalent on-the-job experience preferred Possession and maintenance of a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) card Appointees not possessing the BLS card must successfully complete appropriate training and qualify for the BLS card within 60 days of employment ARRTKnowledge of computed tomography techniques, methods, operation and care of equipment; knowledge of structural and organic anatomy; must maintain proficiency in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first-aid; knowledge of acute care hospital procedures; ability to work within guidelines set by section head without supervision; ability to schedule workload, maintain records and files; ability to deal tactfully with patients, physicians and staff. Very responsive, follows up. I have had to deal with compliance, HR questions etc and if the person I spoke with did not know the answer they sent it to whoever they thought could answer my questions and my questions or concerns were followed up on! This has been my first travel contract but I can’t say anything bad thus far!!! I definitely would recommend this company
