Shift 12hr Day Shift - 36 Shift Information 7a-7p
Weekend Rotation 6 shifts on a 6 week schedule (6 out of 12 shifts)
Holiday Requirements Travelers will work 75% of holidays

• 140-bed community hospital
• Remote Stroke Center
• Chest Pain Center (ECCC Level III)
• Non-Trauma Facility
• Non-Teaching Hospital

Emergency Department Overview

• 22-bed Emergency Department plus surge capacity
• Average daily census: 85 patients
• First-time travelers accepted
• Strong team-oriented culture with many long-term staff members

Patient Population

Common diagnoses include:

• Chest Pain
• Stroke
• Diabetes
• Abdominal Pain
• Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVCs)
• Hypertension
• Behavioral Health / Mental Health Emergencies

Staffing & Ratios

• RN Ratio: 1:3–4 (based on assigned zone)
• LPN Ratio: 1:4
• 2 CNAs per shift
• Charge Nurse may or may not carry a patient assignment
• Unit Secretary/HUC support available

Required Qualifications

• Active Georgia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR)

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC
• Emergency Nursing Certification (CEN or equivalent)

• Management of critical care drips including:
  • Heparin
  • Insulin
  • Cardene
  • Dopamine
  • Epinephrine
  • Fentanyl
  • Propofol
  • Levophed
• Nurse-performed phlebotomy
• Cardiac telemetry interpretation

Orientation

• 1 day hospital orientation and educational modules
• 2 days department-specific orientation
