Description
Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) - Travel Position
Location: Hartsville, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, typical shifts 8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (some flexibility, no weekends or on-call)
Job Description
- Administer roentgen rays and radioactive substances to patients.
- Operate X-ray equipment and develop films using prescribed photographic techniques.
- Prepare patient rooms, equipment, supplies, and medications for imaging procedures.
- Follow specific techniques for general and specialized X-rays, including adjusting equipment settings and positioning patients.
- Prepare chemical mixtures such as barium for X-rays.
- Monitor patient and machine during procedures; report unusual occurrences and document patient condition.
- Clean and disinfect X-ray rooms and equipment.
- Explain procedures and equipment to patients and families; assist patients before and after exams.
- Transport patients and take mobile X-ray units to patient rooms as needed.
- Maintain radiographic technique charts and inspect emergency trays.
- Provide formal and informal education to staff and peers based on identified needs.
- Familiarity with GE X-ray equipment in main department portables and OEC (GE) C-arms in the operating room is required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiologic Technology
- Registered through the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Additional Information
- No weekend or on-call shifts.
- Must be able to work full-time during specified weekday hours.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
