This role is ideal for an experienced circulating nurse who thrives in a fast-paced, technology-forward OR and is committed to delivering safe, exceptional care throughout the perioperative journey.

You’ll circulate a wide range of cases—orthopedic, spine, neuro, and vascular—and may have the opportunity to scrub, especially in complex neuro and spine procedures. You’ll work with advanced technology, including DaVinci robotic systems, while coordinating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical techs to ensure smooth, efficient, and patient-centered operations in the OR.

Required Skills

  • 4–5 years of OR RN experience, or equivalent combined OR experience
  • Demonstrated independent competency circulating:
    • Orthopedic surgeries
    • Spine surgeries
    • Neurological surgeries
  • Strong circulating skills across the perioperative continuum (pre-op, intra-op, post-op coordination)
  • Proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain composed in a high-acuity environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills when collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia, and support staff
  • Proficiency with sterile technique, patient safety protocols, and OR workflow
  • Flexibility to work variable start times (e.g., 7:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m.) and rotating call

Nice to Have Skills

  • Scrub experience, especially in:
    • Complex neuro procedures
    • Spine surgeries
    • Vascular procedures
    • Orthopedics
  • Experience with DaVinci robotic-assisted cases
  • Confidence working across a broad mix of surgical specialties
  • Prior experience in an academic medical center or large hospital setting

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (state-specific requirements apply)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Minimum of 4–5 years of OR nursing experience, with a strong background in ortho/spine/neuro cases
  • Prior experience circulating complex surgical procedures in a high-volume OR

Other Requirements

  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) – required
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – required
    • NIH Stroke Scale – required and must remain current
  • Schedule & Call:
    • Variable start times based on department need (e.g., 7:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m.)
    • On-call requirements with rotating weekends and holidays
    • On-call at least one (1) weekend per month
    • 30-minute report time when on call
    • No block scheduling
  • Facility/Work Conditions:
    • Scrubs provided
    • Personnel considered part of the unit’s staffing pool and may be included in mandatory overtime rotation as needed for coverage
    • Potential to float or be reassigned to another department, unit, or facility (within 30 miles and within clinical competence), per client policy
  • Time Off:
    • Time-off requests must be minimal during the assignment and approved prior to confirmation
  • COVID:
    • COVID medical/religious exemptions accepted per facility policy
