Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate X-Ray Technologist (Radiologic Technologist) to join the Diagnostic Radiology team at Akron Campus. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to departmental and regulatory standards.

This position requires experience in a Level I Trauma Center environment and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
• Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Operate and maintain radiologic imaging equipment safely and efficiently.
• Verify patient identity and explain imaging procedures to ensure patient understanding and comfort.
• Apply radiation safety principles and maintain compliance with ALARA standards.
• Assist with specialized radiology procedures, including select CT-related procedures as trained.
• Monitor patients during imaging procedures and respond appropriately to patient needs.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within hospital and radiology information systems.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
• Utilize proper patient handling techniques, including lifting and positioning patients safely.
• Initiate emergency response measures, including CPR, when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and state regulations.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.

Certifications

• Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification or Registry Eligible.
• Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association preferred).

Licensure

• Active Ohio Radiographer License.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Radiologic Technology experience.
• Level I Trauma Center experience is required.
• Experience performing diagnostic radiology procedures in an acute care hospital setting.
• Successful completion of training for additional radiology procedures, including select CT procedures, preferred.

• Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning and imaging techniques.
• Ability to operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot radiology equipment.

• Knowledge of radiation safety practices and patient protection standards.
• Proficiency with hospital information systems, PACS, RIS, and electronic medical records.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Physical ability to lift, transfer, and position patients safely.
