Description
Required Qualifications
- Active RN License (North Carolina or Compact State License)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Behavioral Health / Psychiatric RN experience
- Previous inpatient psychiatric nursing experience required
- Experience managing adult behavioral health patients
- Ability to assess, monitor, and document psychiatric patient conditions
- Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications and their side effects
- Ability to collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and interdisciplinary teams
- Strong patient assessment and communication skills
- BLS certification (AHA preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Experience in a high-volume psychiatric or behavioral health unit
- Experience with suicide risk assessments and behavioral health protocols
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
