Sanford Chamberlain Hospital is currently looking to replace their Director of Nursing, that will be retiring. This position reports to the Senior Director.Sanford Chamberlain Hospital received the highest scores in employee satisfaction surveys, above the entire Sanford enterprise. This hospital is a Rural Health Network facility that s a 25 bed CAH. The hospital is located on the scenic Missouri River, along I-90 in SD. Sanford Chamberlain serves two reservations in addition to 3 surrounding counties. Responsible for providing clinical and administrative leadership to maintain standards of patient care. Implements the vision, mission, and strategic plan of clinical services and the system. Assists in the development, planning, and implementation of a systems approach to improve and maintain standards in clinical patient care, patient safety, and health outcomes. Maintains communication and addresses the rapidly changing healthcare environment in which clinical services are delivered across the system. Leads the development and execution of clinical programs, policies, procedures and protocols ensuring system integration and adherence. Monitors operations of nursing staff and ensures compliance with regulations on organizational and governmental standards and practices.This role over sees all nursing in the hospital. This includes, but is not limited to: ER, Med Surg, OR, OB, Critical Care, Ambulatory Care, Trauma, Cardiac Rehab, Respiratory, Tele Respiratory Services, and other Tele health services.Will have approximately 80 individuals that report to this role, including a dedicated administrative assistant.Census is calculated annually, the daily calculated census is 8.This role oversees all of nursing and participates in patient care. The majority of patients seen are ER, Med Surg, OB, and Critical Care. Telehealth is also a focus, due to the rural community they serve.The hospital gets 5000 ER visits a year.For OR: Schedule Surgeries happen on Monday and Tuesday. The on call surgery team typically only performs C-sections, when needed 24/7.On Call: The clinical nursing leaders take turns taking call, along with the DON in a rotation.
