Travel RN – Labor & Delivery / Nursery / Postpartum

Location: Highpoint Health Riverview with Ascension St. Thomas, Carthage, TN
Facility: 25-bed Critical Access Hospital
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (91 Days)
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:01 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week
Openings: 1
Start: Orientation held weekly on Mondays

Position Summary

Highpoint Health Riverview is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive maternal-newborn care across the Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum units. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a small critical access hospital environment and caring for mothers and newborns throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum units.
• Monitor laboring patients and fetal well-being.
• Assist with deliveries and immediate newborn care.
• Deliver postpartum nursing care and patient education.
• Perform newborn assessments and routine nursery care.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Float to related areas as needed.
• Participate in on-call coverage requirements.

Unit Details

• 2 Labor & Delivery Beds
• 3 Postpartum Beds
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• EMR: Meditech
• Patient Population: Maternity patients and newborns

Required Qualifications

• Active Tennessee RN License (or compact license eligible for TN)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery experience
• Experience in Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum care
• Fetal Monitoring experience
• Certifications required prior to start:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NRP
  • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring

Preferred Qualifications

• Couplet Care experience
• PALS certification
• Meditech experience
• Centricity experience

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Every other weekend rotation
• 3 on-call 12-hour shifts per 4-week schedule
• Additional floating as needed
