Description
Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) – Travel Contract (Auto Offer)
Location: Spokane, WA
Contract Type: 13 Weeks Travel Assignment
Schedule
- Weekdays: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Every 3rd Weekend: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- No on-call required
- Weekend rotation approximately every 3rd weekend
- Block scheduling is not available
- 48-hour workweeks are not approved
Key Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Ensure all instrumentation is processed according to hospital policies and AAMI standards.
- Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation.
- Inspect instruments for functionality and report damaged equipment.
- Prepare surgical trays and case carts to meet operating room schedules.
- Monitor sterilization equipment and perform quality assurance testing.
- Maintain inventory levels and ensure proper storage of sterile supplies.
- Collaborate with surgical services and other hospital departments to support patient care.
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent travel Sterile Processing Technician experience (Required).
- Recent acute care hospital experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards, infection control, and instrument reprocessing.
Required/Preferred Certifications
One of the following certifications is required (or equivalent as accepted by the facility):
- CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution), or
- HSPA/IAHCSMM (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association)

Staff constantly switched. My documents weren't sent to the school, resulting in a months lost pay. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get on touch with anyone to answer questions. I have been attempting to reach them for over a month with absolutely no response! They lose paperwork (tests, immunizations, background checks and fingerprints) resulting in even more lost work.
