Description
RN – Inpatient Rehabilitation | Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients requiring inpatient rehabilitation services.
- Assess, monitor, and implement individualized nursing care plans for patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic conditions.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
- Monitor patient progress, identify changes in condition, and communicate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living using safe patient-handling equipment (ceiling lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Plus, slide boards).
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and nursing staff to achieve rehabilitation goals.
- Respond promptly to patient needs, answer call lights, and assist CNAs to ensure patient safety.
- Educate patients and families on rehabilitation goals, disease processes, medications, and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation and charting in EPIC.
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and quality patient outcomes.
Required Documents / Certifications
- Active RN License
- BLS (AHA)
- Minimum 13 weeks of EPIC experience
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in a skilled nursing or 24/7 acute care environment
- Med-Surg or Inpatient Rehabilitation experience (required)
