Description
Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) – Home Accessibility Evaluations
Southwest Georgia Regional Commission | Southwest Georgia
Looking for something different than traditional Home Health or outpatient therapy? The Southwest Georgia Regional Commission is seeking a Travel Occupational Therapist to perform home accessibility and safety evaluations throughout Southwest Georgia.
Unlike a traditional OT role, this is a consultative, non-treatment position. You won't be carrying a patient caseload or providing ongoing therapy. Instead, you'll visit patients' homes to assess safety, accessibility, and functional needs, then recommend adaptive equipment and home modifications that help individuals remain independent in their own homes.
This is a unique opportunity for therapists looking to use their clinical expertise in a different way while enjoying the flexibility and independence of traveling throughout a designated service area.
Position Highlights
- Home Accessibility Evaluation Role
- Non-Clinical / No Ongoing Patient Treatments
- 13-Week Travel Contract
- Full-Time Schedule
- Adult & Geriatric Population
- Independent Field-Based Position
- Southwest Georgia Regional Commission
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive in-home accessibility and safety evaluations.
- Assess patients' functional abilities within their home environment.
- Recommend adaptive equipment, durable medical equipment (DME), and home modifications to improve safety and independence.
- Identify fall risks and environmental barriers.
- Prepare detailed evaluation reports and recommendations.
- Coordinate recommendations with appropriate agencies and healthcare providers.
- Travel throughout an assigned coverage area while managing an independent schedule.
Service Area
Coverage is assigned geographically, similar to a Home Health territory, and may include:
- Baker
- Calhoun
- Colquitt
- Decatur
- Dougherty
- Early
- Grady
- Lee
- Miller
- Mitchell
- Seminole
- Terrell
- Thomas
- Worth Counties
Therapists are assigned a territory to minimize travel whenever possible.
Why This Opportunity?
If you're looking to step away from productivity requirements and daily treatment sessions, this role offers a refreshing alternative. You'll still use your OT knowledge every day while helping patients remain safely in their homes through expert recommendations rather than direct treatment. It's an excellent fit for therapists who enjoy independence, problem-solving, environmental assessments, and making a meaningful impact on patients' quality of life.
Looking for a unique OT opportunity? This Southwest Georgia position focuses on home safety and accessibility evaluations—not traditional patient treatments. Travel throughout your assigned territory assessing homes, recommending adaptive equipment and modifications, and helping patients safely remain independent in their own homes.
Employer
Ardor Health Solutions
Ardor Health Solutions formed in 2001 and remains a privately held medical staffing business owned and operated by the same family. Over the years we have expanded our staffing and recruiting capabilities to include therapy services, nursing services, and all allied services.
If you would like the personal service that comes with a staff of recruiters that have an average tenure with the company between 5 and 15 years, and the knowledge of our client services representatives with similar experience, there is no need to look any further.
At Ardor Health Solutions you can expect better than average pay packages, extraordinary benefits, and the peace of mind that you will not be forgotten once you start your assignment. Perhaps that is why so many of our caregivers have completed more than a dozen different assignments with us over our long history.
Ardor Health is pleased to offer a free medical insurance plan in addition to major medical plans. Please contact a recruiter for more details on the free medical plan and/or any other general inquiries.
One final fact about Ardor Health Solutions. We have been paying our caregivers weekly since 2001, and we have never, ever, missed a payroll. If you are currently on an assignment with us, thank you. If you have traveled with us before, we would like to welcome you back. If you have never traveled with us, give us a try. You will not be disappointed.
