Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care at an Indian Health Service (IHS) facility. The pharmacist will review and dispense medications, counsel patients, collaborate with healthcare providers, ensure safe medication practices, and maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). This position offers the opportunity to serve a diverse patient population while working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a federal healthcare setting.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, including at least 12 months in the required specialty (unless otherwise approved by the Contracting Officer)
• Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. Territory
• License must remain active throughout the contract
• Valid driver's license
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide pharmaceutical care in accordance with professional standards, facility policies, and government requirements
• Review, verify, and dispense medications safely and accurately
• Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and adherence
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
• Document patient care in the IHS Electronic Health Record (EHR) according to Joint Commission standards
• Participate in peer review and quality improvement activities
• Comply with all facility safety policies and reporting requirements
• Maintain all required credentials and competency standards throughout the assignment
