Travel Pharmacist – 13-Week Federal Contract | Fort Defiance, AZ

Pay: $75.00 – $80.00 per hour
About the Role
DT-Trak Consulting is seeking a licensed Pharmacist for a 13-week federal travel contract at Tséhootsooí Medical Center (TMC), operated by Fort Defiance Indian Hospital Board, Inc. (FDIHB) in Fort Defiance, Arizona. TMC is a full-service acute care hospital serving 16 Navajo Nation communities and operates both an inpatient and outpatient pharmacy. This is a stable, full-time placement with extension opportunities based on performance.
Compensation & Schedule
- $75.00 – $80.00 per hour
- $3,166 weekly gross (based on 40 hours)
- $48/hr taxable base rate | $72/hr overtime rate
- $500 travel allowance
- Weekly direct deposit
- 40 hours per week | Overtime paid after 40 hours
What You'll Do
- Dispense and verify inpatient and outpatient prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Review medication orders for safety, drug interactions, and clinical appropriateness
- Provide medication counseling and education to Navajo Nation patients
- Support pharmacy operations across inpatient, outpatient, and after-hours (ER entrance) service windows
- Maintain pharmacy records and compliance documentation per FDIHB and federal standards
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary clinical staff
- Adhere to FDIHB pharmacy policies and applicable federal regulations
Requirements
- Active Pharmacist license in any U.S. state
- PharmD or Bachelor of Pharmacy from an accredited program
- Recent hospital or clinical pharmacist experience preferred; inpatient/outpatient dual experience a plus
- Ability to pass federal background screening
- Strong commitment to medication safety and patient-centered, culturally sensitive care

Fort Defiance, Arizona — situated on the Colorado Plateau in the heart of the Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona. The area offers stunning high-desert and ponderosa pine scenery, rich Navajo cultural heritage, and access to backcountry hiking and outdoor recreation. Fort Defiance is approximately 25 miles north of Window Rock, AZ (Navajo Nation capital) and within driving distance of Canyon de Chelly National Monument.
