• Hours per week: 36
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend minimum (may be less)

• Department: Emergency Room (ER)
• Patient population: Adult and Geriatric
• Facility size: 170 beds
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Meditech

Position Summary

• Assess, plan, delegate, and coordinate nursing care for assigned patients during the shift.
• Identify actual and potential patient needs through nursing assessment.
• Supervise and assign patient care duties to LPNs, Nursing Assistants, and Unit Clerks based on acuity and staff proficiency.
• Respond appropriately to emergency and life-threatening situations.
• Document assessments, plans of care, interventions, and patient/family responses.
• Administer medications and treatments including IV meds, blood products, hyper-alimentation, epidural analgesia, patient-controlled analgesia, and chemotherapy.
• Maintain a safe patient and work environment by following infection control and safety policies.
• Receive, document, and follow up on physician orders ensuring proper execution.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arkansas
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
