Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, includes 30-minute lunch)

Job Description

• Work in a dynamic, full-spectrum Emergency Department serving patients of all ages, including a locked behavioral health unit (12-bed capacity).
• Fast-paced, high-acuity environment with predominantly adult patients and occasional pediatric cases.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts.
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
• Completion of at least one prior travel assignment.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS issued by the American Heart Association, PALS, and CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute).
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.

Health and Background Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity: Tdap, Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B. Declinations are accepted only for Hepatitis B and Tdap (signed declination required for Tdap). For others, boosters or titers are required as specified.
• Negative TB test (2 negative PPDs, Tspot, or Qgold) within 1 year or chest X-ray if previously positive. TB questionnaire required for positive/reactive results.
• 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season (October 1 – April 30). Vaccines offered onsite.
• Background checks including Massachusetts statewide iCORI clearance, SSN trace, county criminal, national criminal, and other standard screenings must be current (within 1 year).
• Required documentation includes current driver’s license/government-issued photo ID and Massachusetts statewide (iCORI) release.

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references required (travel, allied, or per diem acute care within 2 years).
• Completion of confidentiality agreement and health requirements prior to start.
• Must pass facility-specific competency exams and testing administered before and during orientation.
