Description

Position: RN Pediatric Transport
Location: Tampa, FL 33607
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:00 - 06:00)

Weekly for 36 hours :$2,496 weekly ($25/hr W2 + $1,596 weekly stipend)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Transport to join our specialized transport team. The Pediatric Transport RN is responsible for providing critical nursing care and safely transporting neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent patients between hospitals, emergency departments, specialty centers, and other healthcare facilities. This role requires advanced clinical expertise, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to perform effectively in high-pressure environments while collaborating with multidisciplinary transport teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill or injured neonatal and pediatric patients during interfacility and emergency transports.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuously monitor patient status throughout transport.
  • Stabilize patients using evidence-based nursing interventions and advanced life support protocols.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other therapies as ordered.
  • Operate and monitor transport equipment, including cardiac monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and transport incubators.
  • Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition, initiating appropriate emergency interventions when necessary.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, paramedics, EMTs, and receiving facility staff to coordinate safe patient transfers.
  • Communicate patient status and treatment plans effectively during transport handoffs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, medications, and transport records.
  • Maintain compliance with transport safety standards, infection prevention protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, transport simulations, and continuing education activities.
  • Maintain readiness of transport vehicles, equipment, and emergency supplies.


Qualifications:

  • Years of experience REQ: 2 YRS
  • Certs REQ: BLS, NRP, PALS
  • NICU/PEDS Transport RN- Helicopter and ambulance transport experience required
