Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)

Travel Requirement: Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates.

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call: None
• Float: May float to other units based on census

Unit Information

• 12-bed Cardiovascular ICU
• Patient Ratios:
  • Typically 2:1
  • Up to 4:1 for progressive care/stepdown patients on the unit
• Patient Population:
  • Adult
  • Geriatric
• Equipment:
  • Ventilators
  • Swan-Ganz catheters
  • Intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP)
  • Arterial lines
  • CRRT
• Electronic Medical Record: Meditech

Common Patient Diagnoses

• STEMI
• NSTEMI
• Pulmonary Embolism (PE)
• Cardiogenic Shock
• Post-cardiac catheterization care

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Minimum of 2 years of Cardiovascular ICU experience
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Proficient in:
  • Cardiac rhythm interpretation
  • Titrating vasoactive drips
  • Ventilator management
  • Assisting with bedside procedures
  • Caring for critically ill cardiac patients
• Team-oriented, accountable, punctual, and adaptable
