Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse

Location

• Albany, Georgia

Contract

• 17 weeks
• Nights
• 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend

Required Qualifications

• Active Georgia RN license
• ACLS
• BLS
• 2 years of stepdown experience in an acute care setting

Preferred Qualifications

• NIHSS

Key Job Details

• Cardiac stepdown / progressive care unit
• Patient ratio: 1:4
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Floating may be required to ICU; if the nurse cannot take ICU-level patients, they may be asked to task in the ICU
• Floor orientation is 3 shifts
• Natural colored hair required
• No fake nails or shellac
• No facial piercings
• No visible tattoos

Unit Notes

• Telemetry monitoring is used
• Common patient population includes cardiovascular surgery and cardiac patients, including CABG, CHF, afib with RVR, pacemakers, ablations, and chest tubes
• Pacer wire removal is preferred; orientation may be provided if needed
