Description
ER/Med Surg RN (Critical Access Hospital)
- Shift: Variable 3x12 (Days 0545-1815, Mids 1200-0000, Nights 1745-0615)
- Contract: 13 weeks | 36 hrs/week
- Experience: 2+ years ER required; Med Surg experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
- Setting: 20-bed Critical Access Hospital; RN covers ER & Med Surg patients
- Patient Ratio: 1:4 (mixed ER/Med Surg assignment)
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (TNCC, STABLE, NRP preferred)
- Skills: IV starts, ER triage, EKG interpretation, trauma/stroke/STEMI stabilization, wound care, NG tubes, Foley care, code response
- Charting: Cerner/Oracle
- Floating: Between ER and Med Surg within facility only
- Call: None
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling with manager approval; at least 4 weekend shifts/month; up to 7 days RTO
- Scrubs: Any solid color
- Note: No RT on site—RNs perform respiratory treatments. Variable shift assignment may include days, mids, or nights during the contract.
