Position Details
- Position: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (Free-Standing Emergency Department)
- Contract Length: 6 Weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week
Schedule
- Shift: Nights
- Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years Emergency Department RN experience
- Comfortable caring for trauma and high-acuity emergency patients
- Experience with common ED procedures
- Flexibility to float to the main Emergency Department if needed
- Required certifications must be included in the submission packet
Required Experience
- Emergency Department (ED)
- Trauma patient care
- IV insertion
- Foley catheter insertion
- NG tube insertion
- Assisting providers with emergency procedures
- Ventilator and BiPAP management preferred
- Point-of-care (POC) lab experience
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- TNCC
- NIHSS
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care for medical and trauma patients.
- Perform emergency procedures including IVs, Foley catheter insertion, and NG tube placement.
- Assist physicians during emergency procedures.
- Manage cardiac monitoring, respiratory equipment (BiPAP/ventilator), and point-of-care laboratory testing.
- Document patient care using Meditech.
- Provide patient-centered care utilizing AIDET and SBAR communication.
- Float to the main Emergency Department if operationally required.
