Registered Nurse – ICU

 

Facility: Ardent Health Services Lovelace Medical Center
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Start Date: 08/31/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day 4x12-Hour (06:30 - 19:00)
Schedule: 48 hours/week option available (36 or 48 hours), weekends required
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Charting System: Not Provided
Float Required: Yes
Call Requirement: None
Note: Travelers may float to MS, Stepdown, PCU, ER, and CVICU; maximum 4 patients while floating.

 

Position Overview:

ICU Registered Nurse responsible for providing critical care nursing services to adult ICU patients, managing complex medical conditions, administering advanced therapies, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams in a high-acuity environment.

 

Job duties:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult ICU patients with complex medical and surgical diagnoses.
  • Monitor and manage ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP therapy, HFNC, and respiratory support interventions.
  • Administer and titrate continuous IV sedation, cardiac drips, and vasoactive medications per protocols.
  • Perform central line, PICC line, arterial line care, blood product administration, and advanced IV therapy management.
  • Assess and manage neurological, cardiac, renal, and multisystem organ failure patients including stroke and post-neurosurgical care.

Requirements:

License: Registered Nurse License; Pending NM/Compact license accepted (must be obtained prior to start)
Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU RN experience; 1+ year experience accepted per job overview; first-time travelers accepted
Certifications: ACLS, BLS (preferred), NIHSS
Other requirement: Experience with critical care procedures including ventilator management, dysrhythmia management, IV insulin protocols, infection prevention, and emergency response.

 

Unit Details:

Unit: ICU (5050-1004)
Patient Ratios: 1:2 (Days/Nights/Weekends)
Patient Population: Adult ICU patients
Patient Diagnoses: Critical care patients requiring management of respiratory failure, cardiac conditions, neurological emergencies, renal failure, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, GI surgery recovery, and post-neurosurgical care.

Choice of 3x12 or 4x12 schedule available.
