Travel CT Technologist – Evening Shift

Location: Lafayette, Colorado

Hours: 36 hours/week | 3 × 12-hour shifts

Position Overview

As a CT Technologist, you will independently perform a variety of computed tomography examinations using ionizing radiation, operate advanced CT equipment and imaging systems, administer contrast when indicated, and ensure images meet established quality and protocol standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex CT examinations according to department protocols and physician orders.
• Verify patient identification, exam orders, medical necessity, and required consents before procedures.
• Operate CT scanners and related imaging/information systems safely and effectively.
• Evaluate images for quality, clarity, positioning, and anatomical coverage and repeat imaging when clinically appropriate.
• Apply knowledge of sectional anatomy, anatomical terminology, positioning, and CT imaging protocols.
• Administer contrast media under appropriate physician/radiologist supervision and follow established contrast safety protocols.
• Operate contrast injectors as applicable and educate patients regarding contrast administration and potential safety concerns.
• Maintain strict radiation safety, infection control, and sterile technique standards.
• Recognize and appropriately respond to emergent patient conditions.
• Provide compassionate patient education, reassurance, and assistance throughout examinations.
• Communicate pertinent patient and procedure information effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other caregivers.
• Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient information, contrast administration, reactions, and incidents.
• Follow department quality-control, coding, charging, and equipment-reporting procedures.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions or technical concerns promptly.
• Complete examinations efficiently while maintaining patient safety and image quality.
• Assist and provide guidance to students and fellow radiology technologists regarding positioning, protocols, procedures, and equipment.
• Stay current with advances in CT technology, imaging techniques, and clinical protocols through continuing education.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
• ARRT (R) certification required.
• ARRT (R)(CT) certification required for this assignment.
• BLS certification – AHA required.
• State licensure as applicable.
• 1–2 years of recent CT experience preferred.
• 1–2 years of acute-care/hospital experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of CT equipment, protocols, sectional anatomy, and positioning.
• Experience with contrast administration and contrast injector operation.
• Proficiency with electronic imaging, including viewing, transferring, and manipulating images.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Strong communication, organization, prioritization, and patient-care skills.
• Radiation badge required; supplier-provided badge preferred.
• For candidates practicing in Colorado, applicable fluoroscopy certification requirements must be met.
