Job Summary

Mergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment at a community-focused hospital in Clarion, Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, demonstrate strong clinical judgment, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

As a Med Surg RN, you will be responsible for applying the nursing process, coordinating patient care, monitoring patient conditions, and delivering compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Assignment Highlights

• 13-week travel contract
• 36 hours per week
• Rotating shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 6:1 maximum
• Orientation includes first-day onboarding, education, and shadow shifts
• Quick phone interview with facility leadership
• Opportunity to float to Telemetry and Critical Care units as needed

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg experience preferred
• Telemetry and/or Critical Care experience preferred
• Current BLS Certification
• Current NIHSS Certification
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Current health documentation as required by facility and state regulations
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
• Monitor and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Collaborate with physicians, care teams, and support staff
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Maintain compliance with facility policies and nursing standards
• Assist with patient care coordination and unit workflow
