Shift Notes
12N
- Ratios: 1:4 days; 1:4–5 nights
- Required: BLS, ACLS
- Preferred: NIHSS
- Patient population: CABG, post-thoracotomy, PCI/stents, heart caths, cardioversions, vascular procedures, NSTEMI, pacemakers/ICDs, chest tubes, trachs, BiPAP/CPAP and home vents
- Must-have experience: Pre/post cardiac patients, CABG, stents, pacemakers/ICDs, and vascular procedures
- Drips: Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, Integrilin, dopamine, dobutamine; many are titratable
- Telemetry: Monitor techs handle monitoring, measurements, and documentation, so travelers don't need to be telemetry experts
- Support: CNAs, RT, rapid-response/ARR nurse
- Schedule: 6:45 AM/PM–6:45 PM/AM, 12-hour shifts
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling and block scheduling allowed
- Weekends: Every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts/month, with some flexibility
- Call: None
- Floating: Possible, with permanent staff
- Scrubs: Navy blue
- Orientation: 2–3 shifts
- Holiday: Rotation among the 6 major holidays
- Important: Permanent address must be at least 25 miles from the facility
- PPW: All paperwork due Wednesday at noon MST the week before start
