Description
Emergency Department RN Job Description
Join a fast-paced Emergency Department team and provide critical care to patients across the lifespan, from newborns and pediatric patients to adults and geriatrics. This role is ideal for an experienced ED nurse with strong clinical skills, pediatric experience, and previous travel nursing experience.
Position Details
- Unit: Emergency Department
- Shift: 2:30 PM – 3:00 AM
- Scheduling: Block scheduling is not promised or guaranteed
- Floating: Required
- Charge Experience: Highly preferred
- EMR: Epic
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Unit Size: 64 beds
Patient Population
Care will be provided to:
- Newborns
- Pediatric patients
- Adults
- Geriatric patients
Common Patient Diagnoses
- Stroke
- Sepsis
- Trauma
- Myocardial Infarction (MI)
- Cardiac Arrest
- Respiratory Failure
Specialty Equipment
Experience with the following equipment is preferred:
- Rapid Infusor
- Arctic Sun
Unit Breakdown
- 2 Triage beds
- 40 Acute Care beds
- 6 Super Track beds
- 2 Trauma beds
- 10 Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) beds
- 6 Psychiatric beds
Submission Requirements
Candidates must submit:
- An up-to-date resume showing at least 2 years of Emergency Department experience, including some pediatric experience
- Previous travel experience is required
- Specialty-specific skills checklist
- Valid driver's license with an address matching submitted demographics
- Current AHA ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
- Current NIHSS certification
- TNCC certification in hand at the time of submission
- NURSYS license verification showing an active New York RN license and all other active RN licenses
- RTO included at the time of submission
- Previous Epic EMR experience
