CT Scan Technologist – Contract

Location: Edison and Hackensack, NJ
Department: Cat Scans
Job Title: CT Scan Technologist
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM

Tuesday - Saturday 11pm-7am (Sunday & Monday OFF)

Sun-Thursday 4pm-12:30am (Friday & Saturday OFF)
Hours: 40 hours/week | 5×8-hour shifts
Holidays: Required
On-Call: No
 

Requirements

• 2+ years of CT experience required; 5 years preferred
• GE equipment experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Fuji PACS experience required
• Experience working in a busy Emergency Department and maintaining efficient workflow
• Must be willing to work in dual modalities (CT & X-Ray)
• NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License
• ARRT R.T.(R) required
• ARRT R.T.(CT) preferred
• AHA BLS required
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

Responsibilities

• Perform complex CT examinations and produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Review patient history, orders, and CT protocols for accuracy and safety.
• Prepare patients for CT procedures and provide clear instructions.
• Administer contrast media and perform venipuncture/IV procedures according to established guidelines.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately.
• Review images using PACS to ensure proper identification and diagnostic quality.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Document patient information and procedures accurately in Epic.
• Maintain patient safety, privacy, and compliance with departmental policies.
• Support efficient workflow in a high-volume ED environment and perform both CT and X-Ray duties as required.
• Participate in weekend/holiday coverage as scheduled.
