Description
Job Description:
Performs diagnostic procedures involving the use of radioactive drugs to perform body function studies, organ imaging, and analyze biologic specimen, in a timely fashion, while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric. Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images. Treats patients with care and respect.
Experience: Minimum 2 years required
Unit: 3-room department serving inpatient, outpatient, and ER populations
Volume: 10–12 patients per day
Required Skills: IV starts, PACS proficiency
Required Procedures: Cardiac, Bone Scan, Liver/Spleen, Lung, Thyroid studies, Tumor localization, Myocardial imaging
Documentation System: Cerner
Equipment: Siemens preferred
Certifications: BLS and NMTCB required; ARRT preferred
Qualifications/Skills
· Basic Life Support certification required. May also require Advanced Life Support certification, if applicable.
· Requires active status through one of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Registered Technologist - Nuclear Medicine, RT(NM);
· Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
· Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
