PICU RN – Travel Only

Location: Minneapolis & St. Paul, Minnesota

Start Date: 09/14/2026

Contract: 12 weeks

Hours: 48/week

Shifts: Straight Days or Straight Nights (12-Hour Shifts)

Pay: $4,228/week

Role Overview

Join the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit providing specialized critical care for infants, children, and adolescents with life-threatening illnesses and complex medical conditions. This position requires strong pediatric critical care experience and the ability to care for post-operative surgical, trauma, and cardiac patients in a high-acuity environment.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 18 months to 2 years of recent PICU experience required
  • Experience caring for pre-operative and immediate post-operative PICU surgical patients
  • Experience caring for pediatric trauma patients
  • Pediatric CVICU experience accepted if competent with cardiac surgical and procedural patients
  • Strong pediatric critical care assessment and intervention skills
  • Ability to function effectively in high-acuity crisis situations

Requirements

  • Minnesota RN License (Not needed to submit)
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • BLS certification
  • PALS certification
  • ACLS preferred
  • NRP preferred
  • Demonstrated PICU clinical competency
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Additional Details

  • 6 openings available
  • 48-hour guaranteed contract (1.2 FTE)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No call requirement
  • Must be willing to float between Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses as needed
  • Charting system: Epic
  • Phone interview conducted by the unit manager
  • Patient ratios typically 1:1 to 1:2
  • Royal blue scrub bottoms with kid-friendly or plain scrub tops
  • Timekeeping through Kronos and paper timecards
  • Facility may cancel up to 24 hours during the assignment
  • File due Monday prior to start date
