Baltimore, Maryland | 13-Week Travel Contract | Nights | 36 Hours/Week

Assignment Details

  • Location: Baltimore, MD
  • Start Date: September 24, 2026
  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks
  • Schedule: 36 Hours Per Week
  • Shift: Nights, 3x12s
  • Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
  • On-Call: None Required
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours

Position Overview

 

The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse provides comprehensive psychiatric nursing care to adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. The RN is responsible for assessment, treatment planning, medication administration, crisis intervention, patient education, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support recovery and stabilization.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform psychiatric assessments and patient evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, and revise individualized treatment plans.
  • Administer and monitor psychiatric medications and treatments.
  • Provide crisis intervention and behavioral stabilization.
  • Monitor patients for changes in physical and mental health status.
  • Coordinate care with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and support staff.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment and recovery goals.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic treatment environment.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system.
  • Serve as Charge RN when assigned.

Requirements

  • Active Maryland RN License (must be in hand at submission)
  • Minimum 2 Years of Behavioral Health/Psychiatric Nursing Experience
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Previous psychiatric inpatient experience preferred
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • Strong de-escalation, crisis intervention, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a high-acuity psychiatric environment

Floating Requirements

 

Travelers must be comfortable floating to various behavioral health units, including:

  • Child Psychiatry
  • Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Adult Psychiatry
  • Geriatric Psychiatry

Floating may occur as needed and could be required throughout the assignment.

  • EMR: Sunrise (Allscripts)
  • Scrub Color: Navy Blue
