Location

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Shift

• Nights
• 12-hour shifts

Schedule

• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and as needed to fill holes
• Holiday rotation and as needed to fill holes

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• Ability to care for critically ill patients with respiratory failure, post-surgical, wound care, IV antibiotics, post-CVA, post-trauma, and cardiac conditions
• Experience with PEG tube care/feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline usage and care, and tracheostomy patients
• Experience caring for sedated, ventilated patients and titrating vasopressors, sedation, and pain control drips

Unit Details

• Critical care unit with 8 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2-3
• Nurses provide primary care; no nurse aides or patient care techs on the unit
• RT available in house 24/7
• House supervisor available 24/7
• Telemetry monitors are centrally monitored by a telemetry tech

Responsibilities

• Titrate drips
• Troubleshoot ventilator and respiratory equipment as needed
• Float to the medical-surgical unit if needed

Orientation

• Classroom orientation per policy
• 2 shifts on the unit with a preceptor

Additional Notes

• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Drug screen required
• Submission requires the last four digits of SSN, middle initial, and requested time off
• Scrubs only; approved t-shirts may be worn
