Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of related experience required.
• Previous experience as an operating room/obstetrical technician required
• Certs REQ: BLS/CPR required
• License REQ: An active Surgical Technician Certification or documented competency with 6 months' experience is required.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Description:

• Shift: Nights. 36hr/week
• Knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and medical terminology required.
• Prior Labor & Delivery, newborn care, unit clerk, or secretarial experience preferred.
• Experience assisting with C-sections, tubal ligations, deliveries, and obstetrical emergencies.
• Prepares and maintains sterile surgical and delivery rooms, equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Performs surgical setup, sterile counts, instrument handling, specimen preparation, and room turnover.
• Assists with patient and newborn care under RN supervision, including vital signs, newborn measurements, baths, hearing screens, and identification/banding.
• Supports delivery room setup, cleanup, restocking, and newborn stabilization equipment readiness.
• May perform unit clerk duties, including registration, demographic entry, order transcription, computer order entry, and patient census updates.
• Variable schedule.
