Respiratory Therapist
Experience: 1 Year Minimum
First-Time Travelers: Yes
Locals: Not Accepted — Must Live 50+ Miles Away
NY License: Must be in hand prior to submission
Certifications
- ACLS, BLS, CRT, NRP
- NY State Respiratory Therapy License
Required Skills
- Adult Critical Care & Emergency Department
- Extubation & mechanical ventilation weaning
- Tracheostomy care/suctioning
- Oral/nasal airway placement & suctioning
- Pulmonary hygiene & sputum collection
- HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP, T-piece & trach collar
- Ventilator troubleshooting, including high-pressure alarms
- ABG interpretation
- Aerosol treatments, MDI, handheld nebulizers
- Medication administration including Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Pulmicort, Xopenex, Tobramycin, etc.
Department Details
- 24/7 in-house Respiratory Therapy Department
- Covers 6-bed ICU, ER, Med/Surg, Pediatrics & low-volume newborn stabilization
- Primarily adult population; must be comfortable caring for all age groups
- May work independently or alongside another RT
- Must be adaptable and able to work independently in a changing environment
- May occasionally perform EKGs after hours to support Cardiology
- May care for COVID-19 patients
Equipment
Preferred Vents: Servo-I, LTV, Hamilton T1
Scrubs: Any
Key Requirement: Strong ABG interpretation and ventilator management experience is essential.
