Radiological Technologist – Mammography & Women's Imaging

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift Matrix: Day Shift | 07:00 – 15:30 (Monday – Friday, 5x8-Hour Shifts)
- Schedule Quality: Standard 8-hour day shifts.
On-Call Requirement: None.
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours Per Week

🚫 Absolute Minimum Qualifications for Submission Review:
- Licensure & Certification Mandate: Active ARRT (M) certification (Mammography) and active Rhode Island State Radiologic Technologist License in hand at submission.
- Core Certification Required: Active AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Experience Baseline: Minimum 3+ years of clinical experience operating diagnostic imaging equipment in Mammography, Bone Density (DEXA), and Diagnostic X-Ray.
- Quality Control & Regulatory Competency: Demonstrated independence in performing routine QC procedures per MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act), Federal, and Joint Commission compliance standards.
- Systems Proficiency: Direct experience with RIS, PACS, and Clinical Information Systems (CIS).
Job Summary & Clinical Scope
A hospital in Warwick, RI is seeking an autonomous Mammography / Radiological Technologist for a 13-week day-shift assignment within the Women's Diagnostic Imaging Department. Working under the clinical guidance of attending Radiologists, the technologist will independently perform diagnostic screening mammograms, DEXA bone density scans, and routine X-ray procedures without direct supervision.
- Diagnostic Procedure Execution: Prepare rooms, evaluate patient anatomy, determine proper radiation exposure levels, and independently execute high-quality diagnostic views across Mammography, DEXA, and X-Ray modalities.
- Image Evaluation & Quality Assurance: Review diagnostic films to verify study quality, conduct necessary repeat views, and manage quality control procedures on imaging and ancillary equipment.
- Systems & Workflow Integration: Utilize RIS, PACS, and CIS platforms to document studies, manage orders, track quality metrics, and streamline patient scheduling across outpatient diagnostic lines.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration & Mentorship: Assist in orienting and training staff or students on daily clinical workflows while collaborating across radiology divisions to facilitate efficient care delivery..
