Position Overview

Seeking an experienced ICU RN to provide high-quality care in a 20-bed ICU. The RN will care for high-acuity patients and must be comfortable managing ventilated patients, cardiac monitoring, and critical-care medications.

Requirements

• Recent ICU experience
• BLS and ACLS required
• NIHSS required
• CCRN preferred
• Basic critical-care course preferred
• Strong IV skills
• Must be comfortable reading and interpreting telemetry strips
• Must be comfortable managing ventilated patients and the ABCDE bundle

Patient Population

Common cases include:

• Sepsis
• DKA/hyperglycemia
• COPD
• CVA
• GI bleeds
• Post-surgical ICU patients
• Cardiac patients
• Patients requiring medications such as norepinephrine, propofol, and Versed

Patient ratio: 1:2

Floating Requirement

Travelers are first to float and may be assigned to:

• Tele
• Med Surg
• Tele floors

When floating, the traveler may be expected to take a full patient assignment of 4–5 patients.

Travelers may also be deployed to the ED to care for boarded ICU patients.
