Hard requirements

• 4 years of histology experience
• Travel experience required
• ASCP-HT or ASCP-HTL certification required
  • ASCP-HTL is preferred
• Must be outside the 50-mile radius — locals are not accepted
• Saturday and Sunday required
• Evening shift
• Must be able to work either:
  • 4x10s, or
  • 5x8s
• Charting experience required, any system
• Flu vaccine required, no exemptions
• Required certifications must be submitted with the candidate
• References required
• Any pending state license must be in hand by the Wednesday before the 9/28 start date

Important histology skills

Candidate should have experience with:

• Embedding and microtomy
• Automated/manual microtome
• Cryostat
• Cutting blocks
• GI specimen embedding/processing
• Large and small specimens
• Paraffin sections
• Tissue processing
• Brightfield microscopy
• H&E staining
• Coverslipping/mounting

Preferred:

• Skin embedding
• Fatty/hard tissue microtomy
• Automatic tissue processor
• GI processing schedule
• Commercial/reference lab experience
• Hospital clinical laboratory experience
• Slide printer

Schedule

• Start: 9/28/2026
• 13 weeks
• Evening shift
• Listed schedule: 4x10s, 1:00 PM–11:30 PM
• Posting says 4x10s or 5x8s are possible
• Saturday + Sunday are required; Monday and Friday are preferred
• Other days are flexible
• 1 RTO request allowed
• RTO max: 40 hours total, and it must be disclosed at submission
