Job Title: Registered Nurse - Cardiac / Telemetry Stepdown (Med Surg/Tele RN)

Compensation & Schedule Details
- Hours & Shift: Night shift (36 hours per week, 1900–0730; 12-hour shifts).
- Contract Length: Travel contract (Target Start Date: September 11, 2026).
- Weekend & Holiday Requirements: Every-other-weekend requirement (Saturday/Sunday). Holidays worked into permanent staff rotation.
Key Facility Policies & Unit Scope
- Grooming & Safety: No false/artificial nails permitted.
- Unit Overview & Ratios: 29-bed Unit 7N Cardiac/Tele Stepdown. Patient ratios are 1:5–6. Support includes CNAs (typically 1 CNA per 12 patients; 2 on nights) and 24/7 charge nurses (night charge nurse takes an assignment).
- Floating & Dress Code: May float to any Med-Surg/Tele unit. Royal blue scrubs required.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Clinical Skills: Must be able to independently read/interpret telemetry strips (Phillips monitors) and titrate cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro up to 50 mcg). Patients include cardiac post-cath, AMI, post-op lung surgery, respiratory failure, pacemakers, and post-PCI (no sheaths or arterial lines pulled).
- Licensure: Active West Virginia (WV) RN license or multi-state compact RN license in hand.
- Certifications: AHA BLS and AHA ACLS required at submittal.

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
