Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Hospice Inpatient Unit (IPU)
 

Location: Collierville, TN 38017
Pay Rate: Up to $58.00/hour
 

Patient Care Setting: Hospice
Schedule: 3 x 12-hour Night Shifts per Week
 

Shift Hours: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (Night Shift)
 

Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
On-Call Requirement: Not Specified

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Hospice Inpatient Unit (IPU) team in Collierville, Tennessee. The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to hospice patients, ensuring comfort, dignity, symptom management, and support for patients and their families during end-of-life care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to hospice patients in an inpatient setting.
• Assess, monitor, and evaluate patient conditions, implementing appropriate nursing interventions.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Manage pain and symptoms effectively to maximize patient comfort and quality of life.
• Collaborate with physicians, hospice staff, social workers, chaplains, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and family members regarding disease progression, symptom management, and end-of-life care.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and provide clinical support during critical situations.
• Ensure compliance with hospice regulations, policies, infection control standards, and patient safety guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current BLS certification (preferred).
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospice environment.
• Excellent communication and patient advocacy skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Hospice Inpatient Unit (IPU) experience.
• Experience providing end-of-life and palliative care.
• Strong symptom management and pain control expertise.
• Familiarity with hospice standards, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
